For RDP Tuesday, the word is wretch.
I was reading a novel yesterday and it said that the heroine was afraid she would wretch. That took me right out of the story! I did not feel like retching. I did think about circling it or editing it.

I see too many of those jolting little blips nowadays, the most common one being it’s/its. “The pup chased it’s tail.” Or using wreak instead of wreck — or vice versa.
