These days I can hardly read the word “diversity” without a giggle. As of last year it is possible to register officially as a third gender in Germany. This non-binary gender is called “divers” (literally meaning “different”) and whenever I come across it I first read it as if it were English as “divers” (rhyming with “drivers”).
