RDP #23 – HEART

Ragtag Daily Prompt of the day : Heart
Saturday, June 23, 2018

Someone suggested they would like a word that was easy to rhyme so I am presenting “heart”

RhymeZone shows 265 possible rhymes

And no, you don’t have to rhyme.  I do haiku so I’m not rhyming.  Artwork and photos are also great.

Create a new post inspired by today’s prompt.

Please tag it “RDP” and “Ragtag Daily Prompt”. Also create a pingback to Heart (copying and pasting this link should work). If the pingback doesn’t work, copy your link in the comments below. Do give pingbacks a little time to be approved as they need to be moderated to avoid spammers.

PS. Disregard “Cyclical”.  This is MNL from Cactus Haiku. I live in Arizona and it is only 8am here.  Please disregard the previous prompt.  Someone jumped the gun a little and forgot it was my day.  I do Saturdays.  If you have already written for “cyclical”, I will suggest to the person that jumped the gun that they put it up for Tuesday since we don’t have a Tuesday person at the moment.  For group members, I appreciate the help but please do not post for me until after 9am California time.  I don’t like to set my prompts ahead of time to go since it went on the wrong day before, firing off on Friday night instead of Saturday morning. And I understand the time thing is funky and I have to convert to UT and then back to my time but I prefer just to hit publish after Saturday comes.  If I don’t stay up until 3am, I will do it when I wake up.  So I will either do it as  a draft to click publish after midnight or I will do it on the fly.   Everyone else.  We have 7 members all publishing prompt words who live in different timezones and continents.  Please take that into consideration and have a little patience please.

The rainy weekends continue and I look forward to some cheerful posts to counteract them. Our prompt for today is “heart”. Use it in a poem or song, an article or story, or send in a picture of what the word means to you. Follow the official ragtag community page below to know how to participate. Post your links there, or create a pingback to your post, or just about browse through what others have written. Happy weekend, everyone!

  2. Good choice of prompt word! Sounds like quite a juggling act to get everyone on the save page living in seven different time zones. It may be a good idea to schedule posts, then they automatically publish even if someone of you wants to sleep in. 🙂

    1. Your welcome.
scheduling posts on a communal blog is difficult because it doesn’t psot at the time you set it for.

I have set it to schedule before and it posted on the evening before the date I set it for. I had to take it off and then republish it later for it to post on the correct day. I wouldn’t have even known it except someone told me in comments that it was early. With a daily post, it’s not ok to post on the wrong day. It’s something about people have to figure out UT 6am and then their own time or something like that. On my blog, the timing issue is nonexistent.

So rather than it posting on the wrong day, I hit publish once it’s past 3am if I am up. If not, then I post it once I get up. I will have mine up by 9am California time, PST. We should probably do by 9am Hawaiian time instead since we have Australian prompters.

      1. Yes, the scheduled posts would be posted in keeping with the individual’s specific time zone. I used to get confused during my early days with the Daily Post – there was always a leeway of two days for one prompt because somewhere around the world the day hadn’t changed yet. On closer inspection, I used to receive their prompts at 8pm my time, so I post on my day anywhere between 6 and 8pm here.

  3. Just stopping in to say that my family from Germany is here, and I probably won’t be posting for several days. I get to see them only every two years, and I don’t want to lose a minute 🙂 I’ll be back after July 5.

  4. Thank you for the explanation about the prompt mix-up! This morning (ET), I linked before going shopping, and when I came back I thought I’d had a “parallel universe leap”. I have edited my post to reflect the change. To MNL (from Cactus Haiku) and the other six RDP generators, thank you from the bottom of my HEART for your dedication to this great initiative!

    1. Hi, Lee, it’s not showing on this page because this is the “heart” prompt and you wrote and linked to the “rejuvenate” prompt. And checking your page, your link was slightly wrong — the url you put in ended in “rdp-24-rejuvenate” but the url ends in “rdp-july-1”. I don’t think you made the mistake. All the other urls are rdp-##-prompt — I don’t know why only that one is strange. Hopefully it won’t happen again.
